Homework and Tutoring: I will be in my room on Monday and Thursday afternoons from 3:00-4:00 and Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 7:50-8:30, to help students with homework or classwork

PLEASE HELP!!!! Cold and Flu season is going strong already. Our class is out of HAND SANITIZER and we are running low on KLENEX TISSUES!!!!!!

Reminders

· Check your child≠s planner every night. They should have it filled out everyday.

· Fridays are Sunrise shirt days!!

· Make sure your child is reading everyday!

Homework:

Student should have about an hour of homework every night Monday-Thursday. If they do not have an hour of homework they should be spending the rest of the hour reading.

Please check their planner each night for assignments and encourage them to check their work when they are finished.

 Reminders for students and Parents

~ Students are required to take the following items home every night

1. Planner

2. Accordion folder or binder

3. Backpack

4. Parent Folder (New)

Students should be spending an hour on homework a day, Monday through Thursday. If your child says they have no homework, then they need to read for that hour.

Please check your students planner and make sure they are filling it out . We write down all homework and tests in the planner!!!

Volunteers

If you have been through the district volunteer training or are planning to complete the district volunteer training and would like to help out in the classroom please let me know. I can always use an extra set of hands and eyes to help with our class.

Focus of the Month˘ All students in 6th grade should have single digit multiplication facts mastered. We are working hard to accomplish this but we need your help. Please practice multiplication with your student. They were each given a set of flash cards at the beginning of the year. Pull out those cards and go!!

If they have mastered multiplication start working on Division!!!

Junior Achievement BizTown˘

Later this month we will be taking a field trip to JA Biztown. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn about the economy and about financial responsibility. In the weeks leading up to our trip we will be learning to write checks , make deposits and balance our checkbooks. Students will also be learning interview skills, job responsibilities and on the job problem solving.

Please let me know if you are interested in helping up with this experience. If you are interested in accompanying us on this trip on the 26 please let me know. District policy mandates that all volunteers must complete the district volunteer training.

 The next district volunteer training is Tuesday October 16th at 6:30, District Office Board Room.
